EvaDean's Bakery & Cafe opened in downtown Wilmette in early 2024, bringing a colorful pastry case and a menu of elevated comfort classics to Central Avenue. It's led by husband-and-wife team Chef Garrett VanBergen, who runs the kitchen, and pastry artist Jordana Downer VanBergen, who leads the bakery. Baking runs in the family: Jordana's father owns Bennison's Bakery in Evanston, and the cafe is named after her grandmother, who was also a baker.

EvaDean's blends the charm of a traditional bakery with the energy of a modern brunch spot, and the photos needed to capture both. We photographed the cafe to showcase what makes it a downtown Wilmette favorite: the pastry case full of fresh-baked treats, signature dishes like the brioche French toast, the sunlit dining room, and the warm, neighborhood feel that keeps guests coming back.

The images do justice to both the bakery and the brunch menu, helping a family-rooted local business stand out and giving guests one more reason to stop in.
